Triathlon competitor. 牧师. Challenge-tackler.

How does the prop you brought represent you?

I recently (last year) started training and competing in triathlons as a way to stay active and challenge myself.

How would you describe courage in one sentence?

The ability to fight for/through something to accomplish the task at hand no matter the circumstances. (2 Timothy 1:7)

How did getting your degree require courage?

At times it was extremely challenging! Three years into my program I realized I may not pursue a career in that field of study, which took courage to finish. Upon graduating I pursued a master's and invested more time and money into another degree in hopes to teach. I stepped out of my comfort zone of working at EU to work in a new industry before being called into full-time ministry.

How does your current job or career path require courage?

  • Leading others

  • Proving 牧师al care

  • Disciplining individuals no matter the circumstances or season they are in

  • Having teaching moments or hard conversations

How did EU help you become more courageous in your thinking and actions?

  • Provided me with a spiritual mentor

  • Was a place that challenged me in the classroom, on the field and in conversations

  • Taught me about discipline, which is huge for courage

  • Opened my eyes to serving others (Matthew 20:28)

Where do you hope courage will lead you in the future?

To constantly grow! To be stretched/challenged and ultimately to move! Not to be comfortable or complacent, but to ‘fight’ for the desires of my heart and to pursue Jesus. To be the best husband, 父亲, 牧师, friend and every other role I carry…and to complete some more triathlons.
